The Auburn Garden Club offers a $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors and/or college students. The scholarship is funded by the proceeds from our Annual Spring Plant Sale.

Elegibility Requirements

• Applicant must be a resident of Placer County.
• Applicant must be either a high school senior who will graduate in the year the scholarship is received with at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or a college student carrying a minimum of 12 units per semester with at least a 2.3 GPA.
• Career plans must be related to the following objectives of the Auburn Garden Club: botany, conservation, entomology, floriculture, forestry, horticultural landscape architecture/design, plant biology, plant genetics, urban planning, agriculture, or allied fields.

Applications

The deadline for applications is April 11, 2008. Applications must be made on the forms provided by the Club, and must include:

• Signed Scholarship Application Form
• Student Statement of Candidacy
• Activities Record
• Transcript of grades
• Confidential Report (see explanation on application form)

Awards

Scholarships will be awarded upon evidence of successful completion of 30 days of enrollment in at least 12 units at a four year college or university or a community college. Awards will be made by mail on or about May 15, 2008.
